Yup, that’s definitely due to the cat wrecking stuff.
    Cats are jerks like that.

    • Ilmari

Nonsense, cats are the secret protectors of humankind from all the petty spirits whose mischief might otherwise bring us to an untimely end.

There’s no end to the number of times I saw my cat battling fearlessly agains enemies invisible to me – and I’m sure many others have witnessed the same from their cat-companions. ;)

      • Matt [in Middletown]

My cat is a mischievous creature, sitting on shoulders, knocking things to the floor, summoning bizarre otherworldly things..

        • Ilmari

Haha, perhaps the cat is simply assailing its enemies with whatever objects come to hand (paw)? I’m sure it’s all for the greater good, only a mark beyond our limited human perception. :p

          • Matt [in Middletown]

She has tried to assassinate me by tripping me.

          • Ilmari

Or perhaps it was just a desperate “get down!” instruction? Who knows what terrible curse might have (or did) struck you, if you did not stumble at that moment…

I mean, you can look at every event multiple ways, and I choose to believe in the greater benevolence and wisdom of feline-kind. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
It’s no more irrational than believing that they secretly have it in for you. :-)

          • Matt [in Middletown]

My kitty is all black, long fur, ten pounds, and has color change eyes.
Sometimes they’re yellow, sometimes they’re green.
Seems to go along with if she is feeling extra sneaky or not.
Obviously she’s here to rekt the planet.
            She’s too cute.

          • L. putnam

So you have seen that the cat is out to kill you, yet your cat nip defence still works …curse you human!!!

          • Honza Prchal

I had one who would do that, but if he got kicked, he’d get very angry, scratch us, and storm out leaving his food half-eaten and scattered across the sunroom floor.

          • Matt [in Middletown]

“Human, you must have reflexes like kitty! After all, you make it light at night and warm at winter! Kitty says it is your fault that kitty was underfoot!” – or so my cat tells me.

        • Honza Prchal

Cat’s are proof of mankind’s innate goodness – they are super-predators with a strong streak of sadism and vectors of a number of nasty brain-altering diseases who rarely if ever learn commands we give but manipulate us quite shamelessly even as their loud nocturnal mating and territorial songs resemble the torture/murder of a kindergarden – and they’re so frigging cute!

      • Chaos85

The problem though is that some cats live for the betterment and salvation of mankind, while others are secretly out to destroy it. Seems like you have one on our side.

        • Ilmari

Had, sadly – he died two weeks ago. He had a long and good life, but his absence is still hard , and may be why I’m particularly driven to defend the reputation of cats at the moment…

          • Matt [in Middletown]

My kitty is only three, so she’s just being a “difficult teen” in behavior.
She’s really a cuddly love when she isn’t trying to trip me.
I bust on her for being an otherworldly critter, she blinks and grins while purring loudly.

Where I live, the weather bureau forecasts Purple Death Zaps almost every day… only they have no sense of fun, and just call it “ultraviolet radiation”. ;-)

  • Amethyst

I am a big fan of purple (obviously.) Death Zaps™, not so much.

  • You don’t get killed if you jump up just before it hits…

  • Farah’s left arm was in her pocket, now it’s around Lily and they’re in mid-air.

Score one for (ex-)magic girl reflexes.

And look at the light illuminating Farah’s jacket, someone is throwing serious wattage,

Also kudos to Nicole for the unusual camera angle! I did mean to complement the view from above in the station, but don’t think I got around to it, this one is just as distinctive.

  • Triss

Stop answering cliff hangers with cliff hangers!!! (Love the purple lighting..ooooo)

  • tinwatchman

Hey, good reflexes. She’s still got it.

  • Jubilex

Nice foreshadow with the light on the hair… :)

  • investigator 7

they really should just apprentice Lily at this point.
